NJ Lawmaker Proposes 'Snookiville' Law
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — A New Jersey lawmaker wants local towns to have a say in the filming of reality TV shows within their boundaries before a "Situation" develops.
Assemblyman Ronald Dancer, an Ocean County Republican, introduced a "Snookiville" law on Monday that would let towns regulate the filming of reality television shows. It would let them impose conditions including requiring the crew to pay for additional police officers needed to assure public safety during the taping.
Dancer named the law after Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, the most famous cast member of "Jersey Shore," which recently ended its three-year run in Seaside Heights.
She and "Jersey Shore" co-star Jennifer "JWoww" Farley have been filming a spinoff series in Manchester. Authorities there have reported no problems with the taping.
