NJ Governor Christie Makes Appearance On 'The Daily Show'

TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) -- New Jersey Governor Chris Christie spent most of Thursday lobbying in Washington for federal aid in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. But chances are he's getting a lot more attention for an appearance he made later that night on 'The Daily Show,' where he went toe to toe, somewhat tongue in cheek, with popular comedian and political commentator Jon Stewart.
Less than half of their conversation actually made the on air cut at Comedy Central. There was a serious exchange over seeking hurricane relief while, at the same time, vetoing a state health exchange as part of ObamaCare. But not before they talked about their mutual admiration for Bruce Springsteen. Score one for the Governor, who says he got a man hug from "The Boss."
(Christie): "I went slow dance. I did."
(Stewart): "No pat?"
(Christie): "No pat. I went slow dance. But then (Springsteen) said the most amazing thing to me. He said, 'It's official. We're friends.'"
The unaired portion, available on line, centered on how to bridge political divisions and Christie's unapologetic approach in dealing with some who take disagreements a little too far.
