NHL Lockout Update
(AP) –NHL LOCKOUT AT A GLANCE
DAY: 2.
NEXT NEGOTIATIONS: None scheduled.
FREE-AGENT LIMBO: The lockout has left several veteran free agents in limbo. These players have to wait until a new collective bargaining agreement is reached before they can start negotiating to sign with a new team. The group includes Jason Arnott (who played for the St. Louis last season), Daymond Langkow (Phoenix), Brian Rolston (Boston) and Brendan Morrison (Chicago).
ON THIS DAY LAST YEAR: Captain Sidney Crosby joined the Pittsburgh Penguins in opening 2011 training camp facing questions of when he'd be ready to play because of lingering post-concussion-like symptoms. Crosby skated with his teammates, but wouldn't make his season debut until Nov. 21, when he had two goals and two assists in a 5-0 win over the Islanders.
