New Traffic Pattern Goes Into Effect On Route 70 Bridge This Friday
LINDENWOLD, NJ (CBS) – A new traffic pattern is scheduled to be implemented on a Route 70 bridge Friday night.
Camden County officials say NJDOT notified them that construction on the Route 70 westbound bridge over Route 38 in Pennsauken "will shift to the left of the bridge, requiring the closure of the left lane from the middle. The right and middle lanes will remain open to traffic," said Freeholder Ian Leonard, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works.
The change is due to the ongoing bridge deck replacement.
Motorists destined for the Browning Road/Marlton Pike ramp are advised to stay in the right lane as they approach the bridge to be able to access the exit ramp.
Officials say the last stage of construction will include the bridge amenities including, new sidewalk and staircase. According to the DOT, the project remains on schedule for completion this winter.
