New Toys With Old Themes Are Hot For The Holidays

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - As the weather cools off, some toy trends are only getting hotter.
Retro is big this year, says Adrienne O'Hara, of Toys R Us. From the 80's, there's a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Secret Sewer Lair Playset which looks at least a couple of feet tall.
Furby is back although more hi-tech than the 1990's original. This one can interact with an iPad or iPhone.
"You use your app to open up this little food menu," O'Hara said. "You can scroll through and find different foods, whether you want to feed it sardines or pizza or hamburger and you slide your hand over the touchscreen toward Furby's mouth and you'll actually see Furby chomping in front of you."
To get the kids out of the house, O'Hara points to the British import 3-wheeled scooter, the YFliker, moved by swaying hips not pushing off the pavement. She says there's plenty of traditional stuff too, and there's always the allure of the box.
