New Schedules Take Effect For NJ Transit
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Some New Jersey Transit commuters will need to adjust their travel plans.
New schedules that were approved in July take effect Monday.
The schedules were part of a package that included raising fares by about 9 percent for bus and rail riders starting on October 1.
NJ Transit officials said the increases are needed to close a $60 million budget gap that remained even after the agency cut $40 million.
