New Rotating Schedules At Several Disaster Recovery Centers In New Jersey

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The schedules are changing Monday at several disaster recovery centers in New Jersey that have been working to help victims of superstorm Sandy.
Nine centers in counties on the south western side of the state will now be open on a rotating schedule; three days per week from 9 a.m. till 7 p.m. But representatives from several agencies will still be on hand during those times to assist those in need.
Mary Geopfert with New Jersey Emergency Management says anyone in an affected area should register with FEMA for assistance.
"Sometimes we find that people do not recognize or uncover damage to their homes until after the deadline for registration has passed and then it's too late."
Geopfert says even if a claim is initially denied, it can always be reopened if damage is found later.
