New Report: Sitting Daily At Work May Increase Cancer Risk

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Many of us spend much of our days sitting in one spot, whether working at a desk or working on the computer, you get the idea.

Now according to a new report being presented at The American Institute for Cancer Research Conference, sitting in one position day after day could increase a person's risk of cancer, in particular, breast and colon cancer.

They do not necessarily know why this is the case, but the study says it could be responsible for 173,000 cases of cancer each year. There is good news however. People who get up, stretch and walk around on a regular basis are less likely to have this problem.
