New King Of Prussia Off-Ramp On Westbound Schuylkill Opens
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (CBS) - A new off-ramp officially opened Friday morning that should make it a little easier to get to King of Prussia for drivers on the westbound Schuylkill Expressway.
The new westbound off-ramp, exit number 329, is just past Gulph Mills. It connects the Schuylkill Expressway with South Gulph Road and South Henderson Road in Upper Merion.
Rob Henry, executive director of the Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Association, says it will mean less traffic at the Route 202 interchange.
"Time is money. The just-in-time deliveries (for example). It's so important environmentally to allow for less idling and less congestion. That's something we strongly advocate," Henry said. "We're just really excited, because it's so difficult to make improvements on the Schuylkill Expressway. And to be able to do that in this economy, is something we're really excited about."
Ron Wagenmann, township manager in Upper Merion, says the new off-ramp should help drivers who are used to taking the 202 exit and travel four or five miles out of their way.
"This will enable them to eliminate that and get off directly and drop down into the part of the township where the business activity is that they're trying to get to, or their home," Wagenmann said.
The westbound Expressway on-ramp opened a few months ago.
