New Jersey Ranked Among Worst States For Minimum Wage Workers
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - New Jersey has been ranked among the worst states for minimum wage workers in America by Bloomberg.
Bloomberg ranked all the states in America by hourly minimum wage as a percentage of per capita hourly income.
Using data from the National Conference of State Legislatures, U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Census Bureau, and U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, Bloomberg calculated the hourly personal income and used minimum wage rates from February 13, 2013.
New Jersey was ranked as the second worst state for minimum wage workers, with Pennsylvania coming in at 14 and Delaware at number 18. All three states have a hourly minimum wage of $7.25.
