New Jersey Man Charged With Murder
TOMS RIVER, N. J. (CBS) -- A suspect has been charged for a murder that occurred in Toms River, New Jersey Saturday morning.
Police were called by the Community Medical Emergency Room about a stabbing that occurred at about 1 a.m. The victim, Kevin Copes, 24, of Lakewood Township, died from his injuries.
After investigating, police concluded that Steven Rosado, 20, of Lakewood Township, got into a fight with Copes near the Briar Knolls Apartment complex.
Rosado has been charged with murder. Bail has been set at $750,000.
Police are also investigating a shooting that happened in the Guilford Park section of Toms River around the same time as the stabbing. The victim of the shooting is expected to recover from his injuries.
