New Jersey Governor Orders Flags Lowered For 9/11
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has ordered flags lowered to half-staff for the observance of the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Christie signed an executive order Wednesday ordering the flags be lowered Friday through Sunday in recognition and mourning for the lives lost in the attacks, particularly those who lived in New Jersey.
The governor's order recognizes those who died, family members who survived and thousands of police, fire, military, emergency and construction workers who responded.
The order includes the U.S. and state flags flown at all state departments, offices and agencies and any public building.
