New Jersey Couple Ties The Knot During ACM Awards
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) - If you think what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, think again.
"The coolest part of it all is everybody in the whole entire country can get a front row seat to the ACM awards and watch us get married on live television," said Christina Davidson.
Frank Tucci and Christina Davidson of Washington Township went through rehearsals for the Academy of Country Music Awards show in Las Vegas where they married on stage during the live broadcast Sunday night on CBS. There is an incredible love story born of heartache.
In 2009 Davidson lost her husband in a boating accident. That same year Frank's wife died of thyroid cancer. They met in a group for widowed spouses that Christina started and fell in love.
Country singer Martina McBride selected the couple to get married during her live performance of the song "Marry Me" with Train after hearing about how the couple's three sons helped in the marriage proposal. Five-year-old Frankie, who watched the wedding with his family, is looking forward to a special relationship with Christina.
"That she be a good mom to me," said Frankie Tucci.
Frank Tucci's mom Kathy hosted the watch party where family and friends planned to toast the bride and groom on television and shed tears of joy.
"Knowing he's so happy and Frankie's so happy, it's such a relief for a mom," said Kathy.
