Flying Fish Brewing Co. Says 'FU Sandy' With New Beer For Charity
By Chelsea Karnash, Paul Kurtz
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Craft beer drinkers will soon be able to drink to charity while sending a message to the most hated "woman" on the East Coast: Sandy.
New Jersey's Flying Fish Brewing Co. has announced a new limited edition beer to benefit the state's victims of the superstorm.
It's called "Forever Unloved Sandy," or for short, "FU Sandy," and the brewery says all of the proceeds will go to several grassroots organizations that are helping to rebuild the state.
Brewed from a blend of Two Row Pale Malt and American White Wheat as well as a special hop that's never been used in beer before, FU Sandy will be available only on draft in New Jersey and the Philadelphia region starting in February.
George Muller of Flying Fish says they will make 100 kegs available at $500 each.
But perhaps the best part is the bottle, which is emblazoned with a bold green label featuring the beer's nickname and an outline of the Garden State –perfect for showcasing your feelings about Sandy to the rest of the bar.
Muller is also contemplating bottling Forever Unloved Sandy.
