New iOS 7 Design Causing Motion Sickness For Some Owners

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- If you've been using your iPhone with Apple's upgraded iOS 7 operating system and feeling a bit queasy, you're not alone.
Complaints have flooded into an Apple online forum over the past week about the iOS 7's parallax and zoom features.
People are saying they're getting motion sickness, vertigo, nausea and headaches from the on-screen motion.
While the zoom feature cannot be modified, you can shut off the parallax motion.
"There are two features, one is zooming in and out; that's really to give you an idea of space in the operating system. The other is parallax, that's to give you idea of depth. You have background in the back and the apps in the foreground and they kind of move like this and for some people, that is jarring," CNET senior writer Josh Lowensohn explained.
The easiest way to turn off the parallax feature is in settings and accessibility and this is where you can turn things like contrast, motion, and there's a setting called motion control that lets you turn it off.
At least 200 million people have downloaded iOS 7 since it became available on September 18th.
Once you download the new operation system, you cannot go back to the previous version.
Apple has not commented on the complaints.
