New Health Insurance Enrollment Center Opens In New Jersey
EDISON, N.J. (AP) — Another federal health insurance enrollment center is now operating in New Jersey.
NJ.com reports the center in Edison formally opened its doors Sunday. It will be open six days a week during the open enrollment period, which lasts until Jan. 31.
Among those taking part in the event was Jessica Fernandez, who obtained her health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. Fernandez said she was able to see a doctor and learned she has Crohn's disease, for which she is now receiving treatment and is doing well.
U.S. Sen. Cory Booker and Rep. Frank Pallone also spoke at the event. The two Democrats lauded the program's impact, noting that millions of people now have health insurance coverage.
The state's two other enrollment centers are in Union Township and Clifton.
