New CBS Poll Shows Big Support For Frontrunners, And Big Challenges Ahead
By Larry Kane
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- A new CBS National poll is out -- there are no big surprises, but the big numbers come with negatives.
With 24%, Donald Trump leads the Republican field, but 27% of Republicans are not satisfied with him as a candidate. He has the largest negative number.
He's followed by Jeb Bush at 13%, Scott Walker at 10%, Mike Huckabee at 8%, and down the road Chris Christie came in at 3%. That's only good enough for 9th place, but still strong enough to make the cut for the top ten in the first debate.
On the Democratic side, the CBS Poll shows good and bad news for Hillary Clinton. She leads the democratic pack with 58%. 74% of Democrats view her favorably, but among all voters 55% think she is not honest.
When asked for their second choice, 42% say Joe Biden. There's only one problem -- he's not in the race yet.
Bernie Sanders polled at 17%.
Five months from Iowa and New Hampshire, both party front-runners have big challenges.
