New Castle County Police Search For Suspects In Armed Home Invasion, Robbery

Penn Rose, Del. (CBS) - Police in Delaware are investigating a home invasion and robbery that left two roommates injured Friday morning.

New Castle County Police say at about 3 a.m. two armed men forced their way into a home in the Pennrose development in the unit block of East 44th Street. The two victims were playing cards in the kitchen with several friends when the suspects broke into the home, police say.

The suspects allegedly assaulted the roommates before stealing cash and other property from the residence, according to authorities. They were seen fleeing the scene in an unknown vehicle.

One of the roommates, a 21-year-old male, sustained a laceration to his face, and the second roommate, a 19-year-old male, was knocked unconscious. Both were transported to Christiana Hospital for treatment. Police say the 21-year-old victim has been released.

Police searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. They are described as two black males who had their faces concealed and both were armed with handguns.
