National Museum Of American Jewish History In Philadelphia Filing For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The National Museum of American Jewish History is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Court papers say the museum wants to restructure some $30 million in bond debt.
The Smithsonian-affiliated museum reduced operating expenses by eliminating some paid positions and making other expense reductions in 2017.
The museum opened its new home at 5th and Market Streets in Old City in 2010.
