National Museum Of American Jewish History Hosts 'Annual Day Of Family Fun'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- For those who don't celebrate Christmas, there's much more to do these days than just a movie and Chinese food.
Emily August, the public programs manager with the National Museum of American Jewish History, says Christmas Day is their annual day of family fun.
"It's a crazy, fun day with more than a thousand people in the building, tons of kids and families. We have a dance party, we have an art project with the clay studio, we have stand-up comedy, we have cartoons…we really just have a full museum full of life when a lot of things are closed on December 25th," August explains.
And it's not just for Jewish people.
"The event used to be called 'Being Jewish at Christmas,' but we figured there are a lot of people who don't celebrate Christmas, or people who have blended families, or people who celebrate Christmas and are sick of being in their houses. And we really wanted to create a fun day where everybody, regardless of what they do on December 25th normally, could come down to the museum and just have a fun time."
