Nasty Nor'easter Bringing New Round Of Power Outages

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. (CBS) -- Snow, followed by sleet and freezing rain caused problems Thursday morning with power lines around the Delaware Valley.
Forecasters were warning of the potential for significant icing in the northern and western suburbs of Philadelphia.
This comes on the heels of last week's ice storm that knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of customers in our area for as long as six days.
As of 10 p.m., PECO was reporting 694 outages, with the majority in Philadelphia, Chester, Montgomery and Bucks counties. PPL, Delmarva, PSE&G and AC Electric had just a handful.
Peco's Cathy Engel-Menendez says the utility has a complement of 4,200 people to respond to outages from the storm, and they'd had a busy day.
Engel-Menendez says if your power goes out, you need to let the electric company know.
"It's very important that customers call us immediately to report a power outage," she advises, "because that really does give us a sense of what's going on out in the field and helps us dispatch our crews more effectively."
