NASCAR Comes To New Jersey Next Year
By David Madden
(MILLVILLE, NJ) -- NASCAR fans in the tri state will have three races to attend next year in the region. New Jersey will host its first ever come September in Millville.
You got Pocono. You got Dover. Now add the New Jersey Motorsports Park, which has spent the last three years lobbying NASCAR for a chance to host a race.
Park CEO Brad Scott expects about 10 thousand fans to show up for the K&N Pro Series East event on September 17th, although they can handle 5 times that many people.
"We have the paddock space. We have garages. We have hotel rooms. Exotic car garages. We have a full clubhouse," Scott told KYW Newsradio. "Plenty of space. Controlled entrances. So we're definitely set up to handle an event like this."
And any modifications needed on the 8 year old track are likely to be minor. It's a one year deal with NASCAR officials that Scott hopes to extend to several.
