NASA Astronauts Appear Live On Temple TV To Speak With Students From International Space Station

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It was an experience for a group of Temple University students that can be described as "out of this world." A Question and Answer session with three astronauts on the International Space Station, broadcast live on TV.
Temple TV anchors and engineering students got a chance of a lifetime.
"To be able to speak to them in any capacity, let alone while they're actually in space is pretty unbelievable!" Mark Halberstadt, Senior Engineer major said.
"I thought I was nervous for Senior Design presentations but this was a whole new level!" Caley Roberson, Mechanical Engineering Senior said.
Senior engineer student Caley Roberson was one of the students participating in this 20 minute talk with NASA astronauts Rick Mastracchio and Mike Hopkins, along with Koichi Wakata from Japan.
Anchor Karina Cheung had this exchange with Hopkins.
Cheung: "The sun sets and rises every 90 minutes. How is it to experience that and how do you get some sleep?"
Hopkins: "You get a little bit of orange, then this brilliant sun just blinds you. And getting to see that 16 times a day is fantastic."
Mastracchio touched upon cleaning up.
"We have to maintain the space station ourselves. Nobody else comes up here and cleans for us, nobody comes up and vacuums and wipes the walls," the astronaut said.
