Nancy Grace Dismisses Netflix's "Making A Murderer"
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Cable news host and former prosecutor Nancy Grace criticized the Netflix documentary "Making A Murderer," accusing the show of only using evidence that portrays the protagonist, Steven Avery, in a positive light.
Grace, talking with Dom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, says Avery does not have a compelling case.
"The big development today is...Avery is now blaming blood brothers, and Teresa Halbach's brother. Really? He was not even there, for Pete's sake. He's grasping at straws since the cop thing isn't working out. Now he's blaming his own family. When I saw these two, they were film students at the time that put this thing together and had nothing to do but video hundreds of hours and turn it into this, cherry picking what they wanted."
She continued that despite Avery's well-documented limited mental capacity, he is still capable of committing the crime the show focuses on, the murder of photographer Teresa Halbach.
"Avery and his nephew can be imbeciles...and be guilty. I watched [Brendon] Dassey's interview. He didn't seem like the sharpest knife in the drawer. Does that mean he did not rape Teresa Halbach as she begged him, cut off all of her hair, shot her twice in the head, saw Avery dismember her body and burn it? No. No, it does not mean than an imbecile cannot commit a crime."
