PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia today paid tribute to the police officers and firefighters who have recently given their lives in the line of duty.
In a solemn ceremony with bells and bagpipes, the city added three names to the Living Flame memorial in Franklin Square: those of police officers Brian Lorenzo and Moses Walker, killed last summer, and fire captain Michael Goodwin, killed just last month fighting a fire along Fabric Row in South Philadelphia.

Goodwin's son, Michael Jr., says the support of the city has helped ease the emotional wounds of his loss.
"What my dad gave to this city, they're returning tenfold," he told KYW Newsradio today. "It's just everything that they're doing that shows that we are a city. We're a city that comes together. Like the people in Boston, we're also a nation that comes together. It's not just people from Philly. From everywhere they're coming together to show support."
Goodwin says it puts a smile on his face for the city to honor his dad on the day that would have been his 54th birthday.
