Naked Man Shot, Killed By Police In North Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say a struggle between a naked man and a police officer on a north Philadelphia street ended with the officer shooting the suspect to death.
Lt. Raymond Evers says the naked man was reportedly running around screaming on a street in the Olney section of the city at about 6 a.m. Sunday.
Evers says the man attacked a police officer who responded, and a violent struggle ensued. The officer managed to hit the man with a stun gun, but it had no effect. He says the man grabbed at the officer's gun, and after the two struggled over the gun, the officer fired four times, striking the man three times.
The 31-year-old man pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Medical Center, where the officer was treated for minor injuries.
