Naked Man Arrested After Police Chase In Central Pa.
YORK, Pa. (AP) — Police in York County say a naked man swam ashore and was arrested after a high-speed police chase that ended up with the stolen vehicle in the Susquehanna River.
Authorities say 23-year-old Edgewood, Md., resident Raymond David Kallenberger was driving a stolen minivan missing a tire. Authorities say they tried to pull him over around 10:15 a.m. Sunday after a report of an erratic driver.
Springettsbury Township police Chief Thomas Hyers says Kallenberger started taking off his clothes during the chase. Eventually, police say he drove into the river. Police say the van had been stolen in a carjacking in Bel Air, Md., earlier Sunday.
Kallenberger's awaiting extradition to Maryland. He's charged with driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, receiving stolen property and other counts. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
