N. Philadelphia Man Convicted Of Shooting At Hovering Police Chopper
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 42-year-old Philadelphia man has been convicted of shooting at a hovering Philadelphia police helicoptor that spotted him driving recklessly on an ATV in North Philadelphia three years ago. The defendant was arrested with the gun, still hot from firing, in his waistband.
Prosecutor Kevin Brenner says the helicoptor wasn't hit, it was forced to land to check for damage, but the result could have been catostrophic.
"Defendant Jonathan Butler, in custody, will be sentenced later. The conviction carries an mandatory minimum sentence of at least ten years in prison."
