Musicians React To Death Of David Bowie
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Just days ago we were celebrating the 69th birthday and 25th album of David Bowie, this morning we mourn his death.
David Bowie passed away Sunday after a battle with cancer. He was 69.
"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of grief," says a statement released through his social media accounts.
Bowie leaves behind nearly five decades of art, inspiration, and a permanent impact on the world of music. His final album Blackstar was released Friday and spends a lot of time discussing death – even imagining looking down from heaven and looking down upon the world.
This morning, several musicians shared their thoughts on the passing of Bowie.
