Murder Suspect Arrested In Newark, NJ For Montgomery County Double Murder

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a vicious double murder that happened in Montgomery County back in June.
On June 17, 2012, Norristown Borough police responded to 1218 Arch Street for a 911 call about a double murder. Upon arrival, the officers found two deceased victims in the second floor front bedroom of a residence. Both victims had several wounds to their heads and torsos.
The victims were identified as Marc Winchell Estiverne and Shamara Hill.
During an investigation, detectives found evidence that the bodies had been moved and that certain areas of the house had been cleaned. They also spoke to the owners of the home, who said that they rented out rooms to several people, including the male victim and another man, identified as Luckenson Desrivieres.
Both men had keys to the door, and the only other people with keys were the owners, who said that they had heard sounds of a struggle on June 14th. They also admitted that they had seen Desrivieres taking trash bags upstairs and then leaving with them, reportedly to do "laundry."
Police also interviewed another witness, who told them that Desrivieres had wanted to "set up" Marc Winchell Estiverne with a female who would lure him to Elmwood Park, where Desrivieres could rob him and "take care of him permanently."
Then, on June 15, Desrivieres went to the witness' residence with a backpack, lap top computer and cell phone, which the witness knew belonged to the victim.
Two days later, on June 17, Desrivieres asked the witness to borrow $20 so he could buy a bus ticket to New Jersey, reportedly to visit his mother, who was sick. The witness gave him the money and accompanied him to the Norristown Transportation Center, where Desrivieres bought a one-way ticket to Newark, NJ.
Based on this and other evidence, police were able to identify 24-year-old Luckenson Desrivieres as the suspect in the murder of Winchell Estiverne and Hill.
On July 11, 2012, members of the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force and Newark, NJ police arrested Desrivieres at a home in the 100 block of Myrtle Avenue in Irvington, NJ.
Desrivieres was extradited back to Montgomery County, where he is facing charges of First Degree Murder (2 Counts), Second Degree Murder (2 Counts), Third Degree Murder (2 Counts), Robbery, Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition, Receiving Stolen Property, Possessing Instruments of Crime, and Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 20th, 2012.
