Mummers Prepare For Show Of Shows In Atlantic City
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Mummers are taking their show on the road to Atlantic City, N.J. for what's known as the "Show of Shows". It's all part of a tradition of entertaining families that's lasted nearly 100-years.
The drum section is ready and the horns are good to go.
The Quaker City String Band prepares for the Show of Shows at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.
Quaker City president Harry Brown Jr. says the event is unique for the performers.
"We get to see each other and the camaraderie between the bands, and then the competition of who did what and it's kind of a good feeling when your playing in front of all your peers."
Those interested will have two chances to catch the show of shows this Saturday, with shows starting at noon and 5pm.
