Mumia Abu-Jamal Moved Into General Prison Population
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Former death row inmate Mumia Abu-Jamal has been moved into the general prison population for the first time since his arrest 3 decades ago.
This weekend, Abu-Jamal was taken out of the restricted housing unit at the state prison in Frackville.
He was originally sentenced to death for the 1981 murder of police officer Daniel Faulkner, but last year, prosecutors agreed to a life term as a result of a new sentencing hearing.
