PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – There is a number of Veteran's Day ceremonies planned Monday in the region including here in Philadelphia. Three of them are in the Society Hill neighborhood.
The Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary War Soldier, located in the center of Washington Square Park will be the site for a ceremony at 10 a.m. Then at 11 a.m. at Front and Dock Streets a tribute at the Philadelphia Korean War Memorial is scheduled.
President of the memorial, Bill Kelly, says an effort is underway to get as many Korean War veterans there.
"We want to make sure that they know that they contributed a great deal to their buddies at the same time to the city. None of them are forgotten," says Kelly.
Transportation will be attempted to be organized for those Korean War veterans who need a ride. For more information call (609) 707 9652.
