Multi-Vehicle Accident Closes Roosevelt Boulevard, 3 Hospitalized
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Roosevelt Boulevard was closed for about an hour Monday evening after a multi-vehicle accident and car fire clogged both north and southbound lanes.
Just after 9:00 p.m. a car caught fire in the northbound lanes of U.S. Route 1 near the Wissahickson Avenue exit.
According to police, two oncoming vehicles in the southbound lanes collided attempting to avoid the car fire.
A 28-year-old female, 50-year-old male and a 5-year-old child were transported with non-life threatening injuries to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.
At 10:15 the accident scene had been cleared and traffic returned to normal.
