Your Sneak Peek At The Oscars

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - With the escapist summer movie season in the books, the 2012 Oscar races will soon be coming into view as the serious-minded fall feature films taxi down the runway.
Everything is still on paper at this point, but as-yet-unseen movies seeking prestigious awards that have been made by and/or star artistes with Academy Award pedigrees usually get our Oscar-anticipating attention when they open late in the year.
So expect at least some of the following big-screen projects and performers to end up in the Oscar competition by the time we start taking the races seriously as the 2012 calendar winds down:
Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman portrays a character resembling L. Ron Hubbard in Oscar-nominated director Paul Thomas Anderson's Scientology-suggesting drama, The Master.
Oscar winner Viola Davis joins Oscar winner Holly Hunter and Oscar nominee Maggie Gyllenhaal in the inner-city-school drama, Won't Back Down.
Oscar-winning screenwriter Ben Affleck directs an ensemble cast that includes Oscar winner Alan Arkin in the based-on-reality thriller, Argo.
Oscar winner Helen Hunt and Oscar nominees John Hawkes and William H. Macy collaborate on the sex-surrogacy drama, The Sessions.
Oscar winner Robert Zemeckis directs two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington, Oscar winner Melissa Leo, and Oscar nominee Don Cheadle in the airline-investigation mystery drama, Flight.
Two-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis portrays our 16th President for two-time Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg in the biographical drama, Lincoln.
Bradley Cooper and Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence co-star in the Philadelphia-set dramedy from Oscar-nominated director David O. Russell, the based-on-the-book Silver Linings Playbook.
