Some Philadelphia Area Universities Banning Or Canceling Trips To Ebola-affected Countries

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Temple University has issued a directive to students, faculty, and staff that indefinitely bans school-sponsored travel to three West African nations stricken with Ebola.
An e-mail from the school provost says the ban affects travel for "education-related business of any kind" to Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
The school traditionally does not support travel to areas where a U.S. State Department warning is in effect.
Neither does Villanova. Among other schools in the region, the University of Pennsylvania's policy closely mirrors that of state government, requiring the school and health officials be kept in the loop if someone goes there.
Rowan University, on the other hand, has no travel ban in place at all.
Arcadia University, which sponsors several foreign educational experiences, says it will reroute a planned spring break trip to Senegal, even though that country has no Ebola cases.
