More Than 2,200 People Shop At Lagos Jewelry Sale

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Shoppers love a good bargain, and in Northern Liberties this weekend there was a very special sale that attracted shoppers from all over the northeast.
Designer jeweler Lagos held its sample sale at the company headquarters in Northern Liberties.
Rings, necklaces, earrings and more were all 50% off.
"We have things that have been here in the line for many years," said Debbie Linderman, chief operations officer for Lagos, "and things that are just from last season. Things that our customers haven't seen."
The sale was expected to bring more than 2,200 shoppers to check out the jewelry.
Most designer sales are held in New York. This Philadelphia sale made it a lot easier for shoppers who would rather stay closer to home.
"I wouldn't go to New York for it," said Lauren Brady, a Maryland native who made the trip to Philadelphia for the sale. "It's a Philadelphia jeweler, so I'm into it, I like to support local businesses."
If you missed the event this weekend but want a chance at buying the discounted jewelry, the sale will continue next Friday and Saturday.
