More Hosts Turning To Pros For Thanksgiving Dinner Help

By Michelle Durham

AMBLER, Pa. (CBS) - There seems to be a growing trend when it comes to Thanksgiving Dinner: more and more people are farming out part of the responsibility of food preparation to a professional, instead of asking Grandma or Great Aunt Martha to do it.

Chef/Owner of Trax Cafe in Ambler Steven Waxman says more people are parceling out the responsibility of preparing the side dishes to one of the largest meals of the year, "the stuffing, the sweet potatoes and some of the other side dishes that could make the meal a little easier to prepare."

Waxman's phone has been ringing off the hook with order requests for those items. He says it's a matter of practicality.

"If you don't have a 36 inch range, there is the space issue of getting it hot and keeping it hot. So, we prepare it and keep it in smaller aluminium containers that you could just reheat."

But if you do want to order items at Trax or your local restaurant, you better pick up the phone and call fast as most would like to have orders placed by the end of this week.
