More Federal Subpoenas Issued To DRPA Employees

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- For the second time in recent months, the Delaware River Port Authority has been hit with subpoenas from federal investigators.
Word is, the US attorney in Philadelphia is taking a long look into past DRPA spending, particularly on economic development projects.
The agency stopped funding non-transportation projects (see related story) after a firestorm of complaints from politicians and customers alike and the governors of New Jersey and Pennsylvania ordered an end to it (another related story).
The latest round of subpoenas were issued this week, according to sources, and went to agency employees and several high-ranking members of the organization.
What they are looking for, specifically, is unclear, and the US attorney won't comment.
Neither will the DRPA, which will neither confirm nor deny they got the subpoenas in the first place.
Last year the New Jersey state comptroller issued a report highly critical of DRPA management.
