By Al Novack
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police in South Philadelphia have arrested two suspects in connection with a string of tire slashings Sunday night along South 10th Street.
Philadelphia Police say that thanks to a person who witnessed the tire slashings in the 1600 block of South 10th Street and alerted police, two 21-year-old South Philadelphia men have been arrested.
Taken into custody and charged with criminal conspiracy and criminal mischief are Eugene Aversa, of the 2700 block of South 18th Street, and 21-year-old Julien Ortiz of the 2200 block of South Clarion Street.
Police do not believe these incidents are linked to other recent tire slashings in Northeast Philadelphia, West Philadelphia, and elsewhere (see related stories).
