Montgomery County Website Gets Major Upgrade
By Brad Segall
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) - Montgomery County has upgraded its county website, making it more user friendly for people to access the information they need.
The former website was designed nearly eight years ago and had become outdated so the county decided a facelift was necessary.
The makeover was budgeted at $600,000, but the cost came in at just over a quarter of a million dollars for a site that includes new graphics and improved accessibility.
"Our brand new website is far more interactive, much more user friendly and eliminates the use of paper in many different ways," says commissioner Josh Shapiro.
There's an enhanced search engine, additional and more easily accessible information on county parks, trails and historic sites and, for people looking for work, you can now apply for jobs with the county right there online.
Shapiro says the administration's goal is to better communicate with residents, employees and businesses.
