Montgomery County Store Sells $200K Winning Powerball Ticket
WILLOW GROVE, Pa . (CBS) -- A Montgomery County retailer sold a winning lottery ticket on Wednesday, but the real prize went to the Powerball winner in Minnesota.
One Powerball ticket worth $200,000 from the Aug. 10 drawing was sold at The Best Check & Cash, 409 W. Moreland Road, Willow Grove, Montgomery County.
The winning ticket correctly matched all five white balls, 11-18-36-41-46, but not the red Powerball 38, for a $200,000 second-tier prize.
Lottery officials cannot confirm the identity of the Montgomery County winner until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.
Part of the lottery winnings also include a $500 bonus going to the retailer for selling the winning ticket.
With one jackpot-winning ticket sold in Minnesota, the Powerball jackpot will reset to an estimated annuity value of $20 million, or $10.8 million cash, for the Saturday, Aug. 13 drawing.
