LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. (CBS) -- A Whitemarsh woman has become Montgomery County's first case of West Nile virus this year. In fact, she's the county's first reported case of the virus in four years.
Frank Custer, Montgomery County's director of communication, says the 64-year-old female victim is now recovering at her home, in the Lafayette Hill area.
Late summer is typically peak season for West Nile virus, so it's a fair bet that more cases will crop up in and around the Delaware Valley.
Crews continue to spray for mosquitos in Montgomery County; they have been out almost every evening.
