Montco Fire Expo Is Tonight in Whitpain

A huge "Fire Expo" is being held tonight in Montgomery County, Pa., to give area residents a firsthand look at firefighting and fire prevention.

The expo runs from 6 PM to 9 PM tonight at the Centre Square firehouse, Rt. 73 and Wentz Road in Whitpain Township.

The event annually attracts several thousand visitors.  It's designed to acquaint both young and old with fire  prevention and to demonstrate the cooperative nature of the emergency services in the event of a major fire or other disaster.

Centre Square fire company spokesman John Posen says there'll be a large activity area for schoolchildren, and adults will gets tips placement of smoke alarms.  Plus, he says, there will be a huge display opf firefighting apparatus from all over the region.
