Montco Daycare, Shut Down For Violations, Absolved in Death of Infant Last January

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia's medical examiner has released the cause of death for a four-month-old baby who died in January while in the care of a Montgomery County day care facility.
The death prompted the state to shut down the facility, citing safety violations.
Now, the official cause of death is listed as sudden infant death syndrome, commonly known as SIDS.
But since the medical examiner has ruled the manner of death "natural," Montgomery County prosecutors say they will not file any charges in the case.
The baby girl died at the Wyndmoor Learning Center, on Willow Grove Road in Springfield Township, in January, sparking an investigation by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.
Within days, the agency issued an emergency closure order, immediately shutting down the facility, citing about 20 safety and health violations.
A DHS spokesperson wrote in an e-mail today that the owner of the facility did not appeal the closure order. She says the Wyndmoor Learning Center remains closed and any effort to reopen the facility will be subject to application and review by DHS.
