Montco 'Cancer' Scammer To Serve More Time For Harassing Witness

By Brad Segall

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- A Montgomery County woman who spent time behind bars after admitting she faked cancer (see previous story) is now headed back to prison, this time for harassing one of the women who fell victim to her scam.

Less than a week after she was released from the county prison last summer, Alicia Tolton was on the phone making a profanity-laced call to one of the victims who testified at her sentencing.

The 28-year-old Upper Moreland woman is now headed to state prison for making that call and violating her probation.  The judge sentenced her to an additional 1½ to five years.

Defense attorney George Griffith says he hopes his client gets help for her substance abuse and anger management issues.

"She just does not know how to express herself in an appropriate manner," Griffith said today.  "That was clearly seen by the offense that got us here in the first place, and you've clearly seen that as she left the courtroom."

She hurled profanities at reporters who asked if she had any comment about her sentence.

Prosecutor Sophia Polites called her behavior "disgraceful and disturbing," and called the sentence appropriate.
