Montco Advocates For The Elderly Discuss State Funding Needs

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- As the Pennsylvania legislature continues working on a new state budget, advocates for the elderly in Montgomery County are marshaling their forces to lobby for more funding.
Today, the Advisory Council for the Office of Aging and Adult Services held a public hearing in Norristown.
At that hearing, the advisory council received lots of input on the most pressing needs of seniors and service providers. And ultimately, all those issues revolved around funding.
"There's 50 million dollars that we're hoping for that is part of the lottery fund, and we are hoping that the governor and all our representatives will make sure that that money that has been promised to us will be coming to us as soon as possible," says Council chair Alma Jacobs (third from left in photo, in light blue jacket).
Much of the funding would go to senior centers and in-home care.
