Monmouth County Man Indicted For Allegedly Killing Wife With Frying Pan
FREEHOLD, N.J. (AP) — A New Jersey man who allegedly beat and strangled his wife to death during an argument last year has been indicted on murder charges.
Forty-five-year-old Patrick Allen of Middletown also faces counts of hindering apprehension, tampering with evidence and a weapons offense in the indictment handed up Monday by a Monmouth County grand jury.
Allen is charged in the November 2011 death of his 44-year-old wife, Kimberly. Prosecutors say she was struck in the head with a frying pan during the fight, and an autopsy determined that she died from "homicidal violence," including asphyxia and blunt impact injuries to the head.
Patrick Allen remains jailed on $1 million bail, and it's not known if he has retained an attorney. He faces life in prison if convicted on the murder charge.
