Mom, 2 Young Daughters Killed In Trenton Car Crash
TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) - Authorities say a woman and two children are dead following a car accident on Route 29 in Trenton, New Jersey Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. between Lehigh Avenue and Calhoun Street.
Authorities say 43-year-old Jennifer Dawson of Bensalem, Pa. was driving North on Route 29 when she lost control of her car and drifted into the southbound lanes. Her car was then struck by a pickup truck, driven by a 47-year-old Hamilton Township, New Jersey woman.
The three passengers in Dawson's car -- her 28-year-old daughter, Shaneeka Dawson, and her two granddaughters, A'iana Dodson and Trinidi Dawson, ages five and four respectively, were all pronounced dead at the scene. Dawson and the driver of the pickup truck were both taken to Capital Health at Fuld for treatment.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, however, investigators believe speed was a factor.
No charges have been filed against either driver.
