Modest Turnout For First Day Of Phillies Single Game Ticket Sales
By Jim Melwert
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Phillies single game tickets go on sale this morning, but unlike the past few years, not many fans lined up for tickets.
After five straight playoff appearances, fans would be out here before dawn to line up for single-game tickets, but after they missed the playoffs last year.
Amy Benton and her friend Denise Gibson drove nearly two hours from Lancaster County to get down here around 5am.
"We were shocked because last year we were 28 and 29 in line, the year before we were 50 or 60, so we both said, 'Hey, you know what? Fairweather fans, a bunch of losers, but we're three and four, we'll get the tickets we want." Benton said.
Vannessa Ramona Whittington Roberts says even though tickets likely won't be too hard to get, she had to be here:
"I think I do, it was a rough year, they ended up being .500 and that wasn't really good enough, but this my game, this my team, and I want to get my tickets for certain games."
Single game tickets on sale at 8:30 this morning here at the box office and online at Phillies.com.
